I have called many places home, but spent most of my childhood in a log cabin in an Appalachian valley. Between the forest, creek, treehouse, and parents who valued unsupervised play, I had everything I needed for a childhood full of adventure.
I’ve also lived in less rugged places, including a tiny city apartment (rugged in its own right), a very well-planned suburb, and a house in the middle of a cornfield. Happily, I am now putting down roots in beautiful North Georgia with my husband and three children. We like to plan expeditions, build forts, landscape fairy villages, design homes for stuffed mice, and read lots of stories.
I used to teach high school history and had a brief stint in junior high summer school (not for the faint of heart). Now, I teach my own children and write stories for them, their friends, and anyone else who enjoys timeless tales of adventuring animals.
